basket & blanket

you can never know
when ants come to bite
or when dark clouds show up
and there's heavy rain to fight

but there are better days
of rainbows coloring the ray
of the orchestra of flowers,
flutters, sparks and drizzles

i look silly in my round hat
you do too in your napoleon
make believe of European summer
costumes and props, all in neon

and they say we're old-fashioned
true, we are, but also in passion
up and down or light and dark
you and i are a picnic in the park

mind dance

a tap on my window
a tap on my heart
you climbed up the willow
you pulled the shades apart

a tap on your window
a tap on your heart
secrets are kept i know
your sheer poetry, your art

a tap on my door
a tap on your head
a truth or a lore
not to be misread
